A year ago we adopted my dog from SARA.

I was always asking my parents for a dog but they kept saying that we didn’t have the time to care for it properly.

One day, my Mum came to pick me up from school. As I got close to the car she opened the door and a little bundle of fluff jumped out and came running towards me. I was really happy as it sniffed at my ears and licked my face. 

After we had calmed down I realised I needed to think of a name for her but nothing came into my head. I looked all around me to get some ideas for her name. I looked at my school book and one of my friends had written her name, CHERRY, on it.

That’s it, I’ll call her CHERRY, it was perfect for her.

That night was a problem as Cherry was crying and we couldn’t get to sleep. I got out of bed, picked her up and cuddled her until she fell asleep.

From that day ‘til now, Cherry and I have been inseparable and we have had some wonderful times together.
